Art Hotel Luise

Berlin, Germany

Location
Art Hotel Luise is located on Luisenstrasse in the central district of Mitte, just off the river Spree in the former eastern part of Berlin.

By Air:
Tegel (8km NW of city centre) which serves most of the flights from the west or Schönefeld (19km SE of city centre) which serves some flights from the west and most from eastern Europe and Russia. Click on the links below for a list of airlines serving these airports.

From the airport
An airport bus from Tegel stops at Karlplatz Bus Stop near the hotel, and Busses 128 and 109 connect with various metro stations (U-Bahn) and the city train (Stadt-Bahn); or you can take a taxi all the way from the airport (around €25-30 and 20-30 mins). From Schönefeld, it's a 1-hour journey by S-bahn direct to Savignyplatz, a few minutes away.

By Train from UK:
Certainly a viable option for those with more time and prepared to change en-route. See Seat 61 for more details.

By Car:
Some street parking is available near the hotel, and generally traffic in Berlin flows better than in most British cities, but as a tourist there would be little point in having a car here.

Detailed directions will be provided when you book through i-escape.

Save to favouritesPrintMailArt Hotel LuiseBerlin has long been at the cutting edge of wacky art, but this place takes the biscuit. You can drink spritzers under a giant horse's head, or chill out beside a psychedelic rainbow of wall. You can sleep in a pseudo aircraft cabin on a tilting mattress as if you're coming in to land, or clamber into an oversized bed to make you feel like a kid again. Artists of every ilk have left their mark - provocative female nudes, neon glows, comic graffiti, even an arrangement of dog bowls - on the walls of most rooms, and a portion of the cost goes to their royalties. If that all sounds too ridiculous, you can choose a clean, modern room with German bathroom technology and triple glazed windows (you'll need it, as these rooms look onto a railway). Either way, you get friendly young staff, cheap drinks from the lobby vending machine, a shady interior court and vaulted restaurant next door. Best of all, you can step out of the dusty pink palais, turn right - across the Spree - and be at the Reichstag in 5 minutes flat, or the Brandenburg gate in 10.
