“Very comfortable and well-equipped apartment in an excellent location. Great cafes downstairs for breakfast. If you are staying in Achat apartment though, don't bring heavy luggage as there are no lifts and a lof of stairs!”
Giles, United Kingdom (19.02.12)“Thanks for all your hospitality. We had a brilliant time and will be back very very soon!!”
Hayley, United Kingdom (13.02.12)“Great location and apartments live up to their name. Lovely cafe, bars and restaurants nearby.”
Lucy, United Kingdom (27.11.11)“The apartment was really lovely, bright and spacious bathroom. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Berlin. The staff in the office was more than helpful and really friendly. Cafe Krone was friendly staff and lovely foods.”
Anne, Ireland (05.08.11)“The apartment was beautiful, clean and spacious, with everything we could need (such as kitchen items and a welcome pack which gave useful information about the area.) It was also very convenient being able to pick the keys up from the cafe downstairs and being able to leave our bags there after checking out on the last day. The area was wonderful, with many cafes and shops, and very well connected for transport into the centre. I would recommend Brilliant Apartments highly.”
Anne, United Kingdom (26.07.11)“Great neighbourhood with lots of cafes and restaurants. Our host, Simon, was very helpful. We rented bikes for 3 days and were able to get everywhere.
The apartment is across the Feuerwehr so occasional sirens may wake you up in the middle of the night.
We would love to come back.”
Carla, Netherlands (29.05.11)“3 of us stayed in this apartment and it was great! So clean, airy and modern. There were 2 downsides, which were the 77 stairs we had to climb up to get to our room (tricky with suitcases) and the noisy children who played in the echo-ey courtyard below from 7.30am every day. However, if you considered this a fat-burning exercise and took some earplugs with you, it wasn't really that terrible. The location is great, with bars and restaurants in easy walking distance. It's also really close to the trains and bike hire companies, so you can travel around easily. The owners left us helpful maps and suggested great places to visit during our stay, and the cafe downstairs was really friendly and had tasty drinks and snacks. If you're ever there on a Sunday, we'd recommend visiting the local park which has an amazing flea market and free karaoke. Everyone gets involved, whether it's singing, dancing or clapping along. A great venue for a picnic and beer, and some people even took their own bbqs. We'd definitely go back.”
Helen, United Kingdom (25.04.11)“We selected a one bedroom apartment over the studio option so that we had a separate room for our infant, but the curtains in the living area are too see-through for this to be an effective place for an infant to sleep.”
Andrew, United Kingdom (25.04.11)“Simon was a brilliant host. It was nice to find recommended restaurants in the room. The room was nice-warm in the day-evening hours, but a little too cold at night.”
Karen Juelsgaard, Denmark (24.11.10)“Prenzlauer Berg is a quiet, leafy suburb with lots of small restaurants and cafés and many 'quirky' shops. If you're a confident user of Berlin's excellent public transport system, especially the trams, then Brilliant Apartments is perfect for access to the rest of the city.
We stayed in the 'Bernstein' apartment and found it perfect for our needs. We were travelling with our daughter, son-in-law and 12 month old grandson, so we needed two bedrooms. The apartment was pristine throughout, and, best of all, was nicely warm to come back to from the cold and damp of Berlin in late November. The beds were beautifully comfortable and a delight to get into after a long, tiring day.
Having Simon living in the same block was very convenient, especially when we needed a screwdriver to remove the mudguards on the push-chair. He was incredibly helpful in providing secure storage for our luggage when we arrived before the apartment was ready, and then again on our departure when we had a 9pm flight from Schoenefeld and wanted to make the most of our final day.
On Sundays there is a simply enormous flea market only a five minute walk from the front door which is well worth a visit. This is the first time that we've explored Prenzlauer Berg, and we'd certainly like to return in summer weather.
Thank you for a lovely stay, Simon!”
Gill, United Kingdom (23.11.10)“Nice apartment in a cozy neighbourhood!”
Gustav, Sweden (07.11.10)“A nice, clean, tastefully appointed apartment and Simon was very friendly and helpful.”
Rachel, United Kingdom (25.10.10)“We stayed in Opal which was clean and well equipped and a good size for a couple. The apartment was a great base for exploring East Berlin and was close enough to the U-Bahn and S-Bahn to get further afield. There are plenty of great independent cafes, bars and shops nearby and the neighbourhood was safe. Very friendly and helpful service - highly recommended.”
