Can Asana
Near San Joan, Ibiza
Fun and funky finca with a rambling interior, a personalised service and gorgeous hilltop views (sleeps 8-12)
When Alberto and Yvonne fell in love 10 years ago, Ibiza also
benefited. They married and moved here (she from Amsterdam, he from
living in India) to set up a business creating stylish
self-catering villas for the rental market. Yvonne is an interior
designer and architect, Alberto a former fashion designer, and this
is one of the largest and loveliest of their babies, sleeping up to
12. It's ideal for groups of friends and extended families,
offering total privacy and independence along with a big dollop of
style.
Once a traditional finca, Can Asana is big - and then some. Every
room seems to lead on to another, or a corridor with more rooms
leading off it, and there are endless spaces to relax in groups or
more privately. The garden is fairly spacious, with a higher and
lower level, but what's really cool about this place are the views.
Situated in the northeast of the island, it's high on a hill with
wonderful panoramics of the Mediterranean sea - and set in 7 acres
of private pine forest. There's a massive square pool with
sunloungers dotted around it, heaps of cushioned sofas to relax on
and not a neighbour in sight. It's shabby in parts, but has a
atmospheric, cosy feel; this is the place to come if you want a
noisy fun week with friends.
