Location
Caol Ishka is 1.5km from Ortigia, the headland of Unesco-listed Siracusa.

By Air:
Catania (60km away) is the nearest airport; if you're touring the whole of Sicily you might fly into Palermo (290km away). Click on the links below for a list of airlines serving these airports.

From the Airport
From Catania it's 40 minutes south by road to Siracusa, mostly on a motorway (the A18). It's a 3-hour drive from Palermo.

By Train or Bus:
There's also a train from Catania, which takes 1.5 hours, and an intercity bus which takes a little less, but you'll probably want to hire a car for your stay (see below).

By Car:
For car hire we recommend Holiday Autos, which offers competitive rates. You can book online and collect your car at either of the airports mentioned above.

If you're driving from southern mainland Italy, take the regular ferry from Villa San Giovanni to Messina (every 20 minutes, with a 20-minute sailing time) and then follow the A18 motorway south to Catania (155km / 1.5 hours) and on to Siracusa (60km / 40 minutes).
