Spectacularly located private cottage near the pretty white village of Gaucín (sleeping 4-8)
Located on the large country estate of Cortijo Puerto del Negro
(see our separate review), this individual cottage is
among our favourite places to stay in Andalucia. Wake up to an
unspoilt panoramic view across the mountains and lowland valleys to
far away Morocco, have a dip in your own private pool and then set
off on one of the many walking or riding trails. Or take the car
and explore Andalucia's white mountain villages, golf courses and
beaches.
The cottage has been designed with comfort in mind: rooms
are spacious and airy with vaulted ceilings, French windows leading
onto a terrace, a well-equipped kitchen, cool whitewashed walls and
terracotta-tiled floors for summer, and cosy fireplaces or heating
for winter. It's also beautifully decorated, with solid wood
furniture, pretty fabrics and well-stocked bookshelves. Ideal for
groups of friends, romantics, and families (babysitting can be
arranged).

Highs
- You get the space and flexibility of your own cottage in a totally unspoilt location
- An excellent cooking service is offered - with advance notice dinner can be served in the cottage
- A private tennis court with a wonderful view is just a 5-minute stroll away
Lows
- Not surprisingly, the cottage is very popular and bookings should be made well in advance
- If you want to eat out, you'll need to drive (it's 5 minutes to a good restaurant nearby and less than 10 minutes to Gaucín village)
- There's a minimum rental of 1 week, which runs from Saturday to Saturday, though this may be flexible for last minute bookings
