In medieval times it belonged to one of Mallorca's most important families. Later it became the residence of the Bestard de la Torre family who have spent the last few years transforming their home into an elegant yet friendly small hotel. Much of the original character has been retained: high beamed ceilings, old portraits and antique furniture (including some beautiful Mallorquin beds); while private Jacuzzis, satellite television and dedicated internet lines, bring the hotel into the 21st-century. There's a large leafy courtyard filled with lemon and orange trees, perfect for alfresco breakfasts, and a host of excellent restaurants and tapas bars within walking distance. Palma makes an ideal short break and Dalt Murada the perfect retreat for both romantics and families.
