Four Rosmead
Oranjezicht, Cape Town, South Africa
Press Reviews
The Telegraph, January 2011
"A discreet, stylish boutique guesthouse in a residential suburb on
the lower slopes of Table Mountain, with subtle décor
touches and tranquil atmosphere... swimming pool & sundeck,
landscaped gardens and immaculate service."
Time Out
"Boasting panoramic views of Cape Town and its surroundings, this
exclusive guesthouse combines classic style with contemporary
flair... Within walking distance of vibrant Kloof Street, (it) has
been tastefully decorated over the years. Originally built in 1903,
the guest house is a listed monument and impresses with its
landscaped garden and chic interior."
Men’s Health Best Life, December 2008
"The service standards at Four Rosmead are astonishly attentive for
the price, as are the many thoughtful touches, like fresh milk in
the fridge and beach bag with towels and frisbee in your cupboard.
Decór is soothing and tasteful, with more personality than
the myriad guesthouses pressed from the same design magazine; this
has a lot to do with the art you'll find everywhere, much of it for
sale - if only everything was!"
Guardian, April 2008
"This inner-city sanctuary full of flair will appeal to those who
prefer to stay somewhere peaceful and secluded but within striking
distance of all the action... Original features such as fireplaces,
wooden flooring and porthole windows have been conserved, while
vibrant contemporary art and crafts are displayed (and sold)...
Outdoor space is small but effective with a saltwater plunge pool,
zen garden and loungers...This is a four-star guesthouse going on
for five."

“It's good for a stopover and the location makes it great for casual neighborhood dining where food is good and their is more atmosphere than many restaurants in the more tourist areas. They are very helpful as well. The place is fresh and modern but lacks a warmth that would inspire us to linger more than necessary.”
