  • “Everything was very nıce. Very frıendly people and service. Well organısed and we enjoyed very much every mınute of our stay. There are many ıntrestıng small vıllages. Biot, Gourdon, Mougıns, Grasse, Vence, St.Paul de Vence should be visited. Best way of transport is car rental for the area.”
    MELIH, Turkey (20.05.12)

  • “My most pleasant experience in a hotel. Hotel staff are very friendly and welcoming and there is a wonderful breakfast with fresh country products. Helen met us with coffee and a freshly baked cake. It was great! I want to go back again.”
    Olga, Russia (08.05.12)

  • “Staff were lovely, and extremely helpful.
We were not wild about the fluorescent pink decor in the bedroom, but all else was nicely done.”
    Gill, United States (02.01.12)

  • “It’s a great place and the service was fantastic.
The restaurant connected to the hotel is very good.”
    Barbara, Australia (08.10.11)

  • “Hotel du Clos is a lovely, tranquil hotel. The rooms are spacious and well designed and they seemed to have been decorated quite recently. The service was excellent and there is plenty to do at the hotel (boules, pool etc) and nearby. The village itself is quite small so it does involve a bit of driving, especially for meals (Valbonne was a good option). I would definitely stay again if I were in the area.”

  • “We were upgraded to a junior suite which had a good sized comfortable bedroom, very good bathroom and a large balcony. We enjoyed using the pool and found the staff friendly and professional. The restaurant, owned by the hotel, called Le Clos Saint Pierre, was two minutes walk away. It specialised in table d'hote menus which were excellent.
Two restaurants we would recommend are 'The Place' at Mougins and 'La Bastide de St Antoine' at Grasse - in both cases one must book.
We visited Grasse, Mougins, St Paul de Vence, Valbonne (market on Friday mornings) and Gourdon.”
    MICHAEL, United Kingdom (13.09.11)

  • “Great value for money. A charming little hotel. We felt very well looked after and it really is very reasonably priced. Lovely evening wandering around Valbonne with dinner on the main square, which we somewhat stumbled upon, so that’s well worth a visit.”
    Kathryn, United Kingdom (31.08.11)

  • “The welcome we received on arrival immediately made us regret that we were staying only one night. The relaxed atmosphere, lovely pool and friendly staff with the addition of a gastronomic feast in the hills above the Riviera was a terrific escape within an escape (in our otherwise coastal trip).”
    Susanna, United Kingdom (29.07.11)

  • “I thought the service was the best I'd ever had; charming, personal, efficient and kind. I found our room (Cake room) was small with very little space to put anything. You need to drive to do anything and traffic can be horrendous.”
    Lucy, United Kingdom (27.07.11)

  • “All staff at the hotel were utmost gentle and helpful in any circumstance”
    Franziska, Switzerland (19.06.11)

  • “Delightful staff, excellent service, spotless rooms - cannot praise too highly.”
    Stanley, United Kingdom (07.06.11)

  • “Beautiful and quiet, the gardens were well tended and the pool was lovely. The village is virtually deserted however, and when we wanted to find a local shop or the boulangerie that was mentioned on previous reviews, the girl in the hotel couldn’t tell us where anything was in the village as she said she didn’t live there. The drinks (coffees in the morning) seemed expensive, but otherwise a very pleasant stay.”
    Alison, United Kingdom (27.05.11)

  • “We had a delightful stay. Everything was great, room tidy, views and terrace lovely and breakfast delicious. Wonderful to have a bath but it did take forever to fill (double ended bath very deep and no pump on the hot water supply). All the staff were helpful and kind and the dinner at their restaurant very good. For others, locally we visited the Matisse Chapel in Vence and Chateau Grimaldi for the Picasso's. For a truly delicious lunch with lots of art to see in the main restaurant La Columbe d'Ore is a must. Only open to non-residents at lunchtime and dress up, this is not a shorts lunch place.”

  • “We were very impressed with Hotel Du Clos. Very clean and detailed room with excellent customer service. I would return, and most definitely recommend it to friends. Thank you!”
    Jessica, United States (08.03.11)

  • “All ran smoothly and we thouroughly enjoyed our complimentary bottle of champagne on arrival!
Please pass on our thanks to the staff at Hotel du Clos for their warm and friendly hospitality. We only stayed one night but would certainly stay again and won't hesitate to recommend the hotel to friends.
The restaurant L'ecole des filles, in a village nearby (recommended by Marie) was excellent .”
    Michelle, United Arab Emirates (11.09.10)

  • “We overall enjoyed our stay at hotel Du Clos. Here are our comments with suggestions for improvement. A bathroom door would have been useful.
A mosquito net would be even better!
    The reception was often deserted.
As the receptionists were young ladies we could not really ask their help with the luggage, even though the offered it.”
    Dorottya, Turkey (26.08.10)

  • “Our second visit to Hotel Du Clos was fantastic once again, with excellent, friendly service. Absolutely make sure that you book dinner on the terrace in the restaurant in the village - it's got a lovely atmosphere and serves interesting local food.”
    Hugo, United Kingdom (20.08.10)

  • “We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Du Clos. We rate it a 5 out of 5 for service, rooms, atmosphere and location. It is very beautiful and has a lot of charm. Our daughter really enjoyed the pool there and we would definitely stay there again. We would recommend it to anyone and it is great value.”
    Caryn, United States (12.07.10)

  • “Staff were very helpful. Breakfast was very good. The room was average and let down by a very noisy airconditioner which was absolutely essential as we were there during an exceptionally warm period.
The town itself is very uninteresting and anyone staying here must be prepared to use it only as a base.”
    kevin, Hong Kong (01.07.10)

  • “Very nice bed & breakfast near Nice. Our room was perfect with an own seat in the garden and a nice bathroom.”
    Marc, Netherlands (05.06.10)

First came the [i!http://www.i-escape.com/hotel.php?section=eating&hotel_key=FR073!restaurant], then the Michelin star, finally a small hotel to accommodate those who didn’t want to leave. It’s a tale of two buildings, with the restaurant sitting next to the church and the hotel basking on the edge of the village. A 3-minute stroll connects the two and those who come find beautiful interiors, excellent service and super value for money. The hotel itself – a newly renovated 17th-century farmhouse – comes in an elegant contemporary French style. You get olive trees scattered across sweeping lawns, a shaded terrace for breakfast and sundowners, a boules pitch tucked away in one corner, sun loungers circling the pool. Uncluttered [r:FR073:rooms] are warmly chic. They’re split between the main house (slightly smaller) and a converted barn (several with terraces). All have a sense of calm, fancy bathrooms, beautiful linen and excellent beds. Some guests linger, others head off to explore. The pretty market towns of Biot and Valbonne are on your doorstep. Nice, Antibes and Cannes are close.
