Hotel Josef
Prague, Czech Republic
Rooms
It might be minimalist, but Josef's design does not skimp on
comfort or sacrifice it to style. There are 8 singles, 25 twins and
76 doubles, either Deluxe or Superior Deluxe.
For all rooms the overall feel is clean-cut comfort. Beds
are large, with white percale linen and lots of soft pillows
(harder ones are available on request). One wall is plate-glass,
covered by a blackout Venetian blind, and there’s a perspex
desk and chrome chair, mirrored wardrobes and a couple of sleek
armchairs. Floors are carpeted in grey-beige. The main tones are
white and neutrals; splashes of ochre and red soften the
design.
Bathrooms are tiled in pale Portuguese limestone and have
large rainfall showerheads (some have tubs too). Bathrobes,
slippers, hairdryers and gorgeous Aveda products are
provided.
Deluxe Rooms have tea and coffee making facilities, while
superior ones have Nespresso coffee machines. Superior Deluxe
Rooms are also more spacious and many have a modernist glass
bathroom: the shower and sink are separated from the bedroom by
glass walls, the toilet hidden behind frosted glass. Superiors
without glass bathrooms have large limestone baths.
The best rooms are designated as Special Rooms and include:
704 (with a freestanding bath) and 801, both of which have long
balconies views over to the castle; 803 and 806 which have windows
on two walls for maximum daylight and views towards the courtyard
or castle.
