Hotel Salvia
Soller, Mallorca
Romantic hideaway in the heart of delightful Soller, with mountain views, elegant rooms and a self-catering apartment sleeping 2-4 - a gem of a hotel
We'd heard that Hotel Salvia was one of the most beautiful small
hotels in the Med. We went to see for ourselves and we weren't
disappointed. Formerly an 18th-century family home, Salvia is set
in the heart of the ancient town of Soller with spectacular views
of the Tramuntana mountains. The hotel's charm lies not only in its
tranquil hidden location in the winding backstreets, but also in
its attention to detail. The design achieves an almost regal feel
with its antique furniture, gilt mirrors, oil paintings and
chaise-longues, yet the immaculate interiors are as comfortable and
intimate as the lush garden and pool area. Sitting on the terrace
beneath hanging creepers in the dappled sunlight doesn't come more
relaxing.
Soller's leafy plaza with its open-air cafés is just round
the corner. From here you can venture on the tram down to the beach
at the port, or take the old wooden train through the mountains to
Palma. Massages, tennis lessons, guided hikes, golf and boat trips
with picnics can all be organised by the hotel.
