Booking Policies

  • Payment:
    Non-refundable guarantee deposit is charged in United Kingdom Pounds (GBP) by i-escape upon reservation.
    Outstanding balance is to be paid directly to Hotel Santa Maria at time of stay in local currency.

  • Cancellation Fees:
    For all cancellations, the initial 20% deposit is non-refundable. In addition, for any cancellations less than 7 days prior to arrival: additional charge equal to one night (or balance payment if only staying one night) will be made to credit card by Hotel Santa Maria. If staying in a Quadruple or any Suite, the additional charge will be equal to two nights stay. Cancellations must be received in writing. Any cancellation received less than 3 days prior to arrival or in the event of premature departure or no-show: the full extent of the stay, as originally booked and confirmed, will be charged. We recommend that you take out insurance against cancellation due to unforeseen circumstances.

Glossy-leafed orange trees shade the scrunchy-gravel courtyard at its centre - a glorious summery retreat with flowers and myrtle bushes. Around it are 18 bungalow-style [r:IT036:rooms], including some huge family suites. It's a conversion of a 17th-century convent, but feels thoroughly modern. Trastevere is Rome’s loveliest and liveliest neighbourhood, a cobbled maze of lanes filled with bars, restaurants and small shops. Like Paris' Left Bank, you find long-term locals mingling with map-flapping tourists, American students, boho alternative types and the occasional homeless person with a dog on a string. The district’s café-ringed main piazza, glinting with magnificent medieval mosaics, is just around the corner. Despite its prime location, Santa Maria is peaceful, the only disturbances being church bells, courtyard chatter and the occasional vivid Italian discussion issuing from the flower-laden apartments around.
