• Dining: Excellent 3-course dinners available on request: highly recommended in summer when you dine alfresco on the roof terrace, less so in winter when tables are laid up in the 'winter salon'
• Communal areas: Small courtyard and big sweep of roof terrace; a quiet sitting room/chill out area to one side of courtyard
• Internet Access: Wifi throughout the hotel and access to the hotel's laptop if you don't have your own with you
• Swimming Pool: No pool but a jacuzzi-with-a-view on the roof terrace and great beaches at El Palmar and Canos de Meca (nudist in parts) just 10-20 minutes' drive from the hotel
• Spa Treatments: Ayurvedic massages on offer in your room, on the terrace or down in the amazing subterranean aljibe, the ancient water well of the house
• Weddings and Celebrations: Groups occasionally take over the whole hotel: it would be great to have the run of the place for just your friends and family
• Meetings/Functions: Not suitable
• Disabled Access: There is a disabled-accessible room on the ground floor, but the primary focus of this place is the roof terrace and access to the subterranean massage room is via a steep circular staircase
• Pets: Not suitable
• Languages Spoken: Spanish, English, French, Flemish

When to go?

Vejer is worth a visit at any time of year, and its proximity to the sea means that even in summer, it rarely gets unpleasantly hot. The beach season normally kicks off around mid May and extends until early October.

Author's tips

If you're heading for the beach, get going fairly early: the Spanish don't so you'll have much more space on the sand for the first part of the day. And you can then spend the later part of the day chilling up on Hotel V's roof terrace.
