Ibrik Resort by the River

Bangkok, Thailand

Location
Ibrik Resort by the River is right on the Chao Phraya river, near the Royal Palace, in the Thonburi district of Bangkok.

By Air:
Bangkok Suvarnabhumi International (25km away) is the nearest airport. It's a major hub and is served by many flights from Europe, the USA, Australia and elsewhere in Thailand and Asia - click on the links below for a list of airlines. Some domestic flights continue to land at the city's older airport, Don Mueang (24km away).

From the Airport:
It takes about 45 minutes to an hour to reach the guesthouse from either airport, depending on traffic, and transfers can be arranged (see Rates). If you're taking a taxi be sure to bring detailed directions (in Thai) with you, as the guesthouse is very difficult to find.

Getting Around:
The water taxi piers (Wang Lang Pier and Wat Rakang Pier) are only a few steps from the guesthouse and provide easy access to the rest of Bangkok. Staff can order road taxis for you, but remember to keep the hotel’s address and directions, in Thai, on you at all times.

Detailed directions will be sent when you book through i-escape.com.

Save to favouritesPrintMailIbrik Resort by the RiverOn the banks of the olde-worlde Thonburi side of Bangkok, Ibrik River (as opposed to Ibrik City) is not an easy hotel to find. It's tucked between the Patravadi Theatre's Studio 9 eatery, and a townhouse which I initially thought was the hotel. But, once you've found the small white gate, darted down the narrow path into a little garden and entered the demure café/lobby, you realise that you’ve stumbled upon a rather special, idiosyncratic hidey-home in Bangkok’s most Bohemian spot. One of the first boutique properties to open in Bangkok in 2004, this petite gem - white, clean-lined and filled with dappled light and breeze - is a triumph of understatement: polished concrete floors, contemporary bathrooms and grandma’s attic furniture. Only 3 [r:TH029:guestrooms] means privacy and quiet, and the staff are incredibly polite and helpful. This little spot is like a home away from home in sprawling, bustling Bangkok, and a welcome respite at the end of a long day of sightseeing.
