Environmental Policy

The resort is truly environmentally sound: it was built without disturbing the jungle, organic and biodegradable cleaning products and toiletries are used, waste is recycled, and water usage is carefully managed.

Social Responsibility

The resort runs community education programmes focusing on sustainability. More than 90% of the staff come from the local area.

When to go?

The resort is open all year round. The dry season from December to March is blissful, but there are more people around. The ‘green’ season from May to November is also wonderful - it’s still warm, and there are fewer people. It tends to be sunny in the morning and rainy in the afternoon, so time your activities accordingly. In October the rain is much heavier, and you might find it a little dark indoors. Don’t even think of driving long distances in the rainy season: fly to Tambor and take the transfer from there.

Author's tips

You may need something slightly chic in the evening to match the elegance of your surroundings. Add fleeces, long trousers and waterproofs to your packing if you're coming in the 'green' season.

Save to favouritesPrintMailLatitude 10 ResortImagine a friend with a flair for the exotic and a taste for the finer things sent you the keys for his beach home. Arriving by night, through the very discreet entrance, you wander down overgrown paths through the singing jungle towards the glow of lamps. And there - surprisingly grand and very elegant - you’re amazed to find a sleek, colonial clubhouse, open to the murmuring surf. Lights are low, the music is mellow, and staff are waiting to mix you a drink. A private chef cooks a couple of locally caught fish, which you eat gazing out at the limpid green pool, cooled by sea breezes, before you stroll along those leafy paths to bed. Hidden in the foliage, your room is a little Balinese-style wooden house, lit with candles, filled with exotic treasures. In fact, there are 5 of these [r:CO021:casitas], though you’re barely aware of anyone else: perfectly maintained gardens guarantee privacy. Shower en plein air, or, if you must, learn to surf from the beautiful beach just steps away, complete with overhanging palms. Do nothing terribly taxing. This is a very romantic place indeed. Lie back and dream.
