Luna Nueva Lodge
San Ramon, Costa Rica
Press Reviews
The Observer, September 2008
"Sip your fresh tamarind juice in a hammock on the balcony or
star-gaze from the hot tub in lush tropical gardens. This working
biodynamic farm protects an area of primary rainforest 12 miles
from the Arenal volcano. It's a great place to relax, but then a
tour of the rainforest will change your view of nature forever.
Visionary owner Steve Farrell reveals how it's all interconnected,
from intriguing fungi to walking palm trees. Fascinating and
transforming."
Healthy Living, April 2008
"Luna Nueva is a global model of what sustainable organic farming
can and should be."

“This is an excellent choice for those who are looking for somewhere fairly peaceful but with the opportunity to meet and interact with other guests. The lodges are spaced out so privacy is assured and they are simple but well built and tasteful with stylish bathrooms. All in all they represent excellent value for money.
Meals are at set times which some may find a little restrictive but they consist of well-cooked wholesome food that is mainly grown on the farm. You'd have to travel some distance to get a snack so that makes this a great location for anyone who wants a bit of a health kick. Staff and guests eat at the same time and tables and this creates a nice ambience with the opportunity to engage with a really interesting group of people.
The staff working within the hotel are all really friendly, helpful and accommodating. They are all very passionate about the faming side of the business and there is clearly a wealth of knowledge and experience within.
I would have no hesitation recommending Luna Nueva (unless you're looking for wild parties and lots of junk food) and would definitely stay again if I return to Costa Rica”
