• Dining: On-site open-sided restaurant and bar serving 3 meals daily, each with multiple courses (breakfast included in the rates). Meals available on room balconies as well for no additional charge
• Communal areas: Main lobby is spacious and has a comfortable reading area. Small shop is filled with colourful local handicrafts. Set on a valley floor with several lily ponds, paved and bamboo walkways, and well-tended planters holding a variety of tropical greenery
• Internet Access: Ethernet hookup available in rooms in main building. Office centre has 4 computers for getting online. Connections can be a bit touch and go
• Swimming Pool: Kidney-shaped pool at the heart of the hotel. Indoor Jacuzzi is almost as big as the pool!
• Spa Treatments: There's an on-site Jacuzzi, sauna and steam room
• Recreational: Guests can borrow bicycles to explore the area
• Weddings and Celebrations: The hotel’s immense private cave offers a unique place for weddings, meetings or group events of any kind with its paved floor and extensive lighting system
• Meetings/Functions: Again, can be held in cave for an unusually inspiring venue

Social Responsibility

Mai Chau offers training and education for the local community as well as hospitality and trade skills, enriching their lives and literacy level, as well as employment (100% of lodge staff are local). Mai Chau purchases local products, respects and promotes local culture, has undertaken a planting scheme of native trees in and around Mai Chau, and is involved with building projects in surrounding villages of Xo, Van and Panh.

When to go?

Mai Chau is less rainy and has lower humidity than other northern Vietnamese cities and generally experiences good weather throughout the year. The finest weather of the year extends from September until May with temperatures ranging from 15C to 30C. It can be quite cold during winter (18C ) from November until end of February which makes that hot tub all the more appealing. The monsoon prevails from June until September with stronger breezes and higher humidity with limited rainfall. Temperatures are warmer during this time, varying between 25C to 35C.
