Mine Hotel

Palermo Soho, Buenos Aires

Time Out, Buenos Aires
"It's no longer enough to throw an expensive rug on the floor, buy some kitsch furniture, decorate each room differently and put the word 'boutique' somewhere in the name. Mine Hotel appears to go further in justifying its quality claim by offering a truly well-considered design and utmost professionalism. Every detail is designed to be harmonious, from the bedspreads to the lighting."

  • “I certainly did enjoy my stay, and would rate the hotel absolutely first class for customer service.
Every single staff member I met went out of their way to help, give advice and generally be solicitous. Their English was excellent, so communication did not have to rely on my almost non-existent Spanish.
Breakfast was amazing, and friends who were staying at the Hilton wished they'd booked Mine instead after several visits.

Ask the staff. If they understand what you are looking for - e.g. I wanted to see a Milonga, rather than a staged Tango show, and Rosario researched in the area I wanted to go to, and organized a Restaurant. The former was outstanding, and the Milonga was hugely entertaining. This venue is now going on their very comprehensive list of Tango venues.”

  • “This hotel is in the right spot. The neighborhood is great with its nice restaurants and several milongas to please the tango-lovers. More important are the staff. At the reception-desk the guys and girls gave their all. No questions were left unanswered. The cleaning-lady folded our shirts and pullovers which we had left on a chair. The restaurant staff didn't take long to remember our favorite hot drinks. Arriving after 23:00 in the empty restaurant it was no problem to still be served a two-course dinner. Great staff - great rooms - great service!”

  • “Claudio on reception at night was great. Breakfast was superb quality.”

  • “The staff in this hotel could not have been any more helpful,
they really made our first few nights in BA very easy.
I would definately advise friends etc to stay there.”

  • “This hotel is reasonably priced and in a very good location. Desk staff were extremely friendly and courteous. However, it is in a concrete building which suffers from poor sound insulation and really retains the heat making it rather uncomfortable. Breakfast was plentiful but not particularly appetising and the service somewhat desultory compared to comparisons with the rest of Argentina.”

Save to favouritesPrintMailMine HotelLeaving behind the sinfully-tempting vintage boutiques and cobblestones of über-hip Palermo Soho, I am excitedly schlepping my shopping bags through the glass door, when the yummiest of smells hits me. Cocoa Butter. Eyes now narrowly closed, I am enthralled by the delicious, rich, warm scent, which I’ll find out later lingers around the entire hotel. Calm, colourful and bright with warm eco-elements of wood, stone and hemp, this 20-[r:AR041:room] hotel includes a deli-style café, a lounge area with a PC corner, and a garden courtyard with a swimming pool and large daybeds. The tunes of U2 and other nostalgic 80s songs add to the mellow atmosphere, though a few sips of the velvety Rutini Malbec might also play their part. Up in the room, what better remedy for shopping- and tango-tortured limbs than a soak in my very own jacuzzi? This is a true feel-good hotel, where comfort reigns - but it had me at the cocoa scent...
