Misc eatdrinksleep
Nieuwmarkt, Amsterdam
Funky little hotel with six themed rooms located in one of the oldest parts of the city
Set in a classic 17th-century canal house, Misc features just six
simple, colourful and appropriately named rooms: Africa,
Baroque, Rembrandt, Design, Primavera and Wonders. Each is a quirky
mix of Ikea style and vintage elegance.
The hotel (it's more of a guesthouse, really) is ideal for those
looking for a cost-effective weekend break with a little panache.
Situated next to the historical Nieuwmarkt Square, it's a stone's
throw from Amsterdam's infamous action.
Downstairs is a great little café-bar where you can have
breakfast, coffee, drinks, snacks and cocktails, all day long. An
informal, quirky, personable sort of place.

Highs
- Great location, great price and great views
- Breakfast is served until noon - a bonus for late risers
- Friendly, helpful owners who are happy to provide assistance in exploring Amsterdam
Lows
- On the edge of Amsterdam's 'Red Light District'
- No outdoor space, but all of Amsterdam is at the doorstep
- The back rooms are a little small and lack canal views
There are plenty of funky small hotels in town, but Misc takes it to another level with its easy-going attitude...
