  • “The apartments are stylish, very well set up, comfortable, nicely decorated and very clean, with everything that we required to self cater during a short stay. My apartment had views of the wonderful Alhambra, though you needed to sit close to the window to see them. There was some noise from the street and from the kitchen of a nursing home opposite, but I think that this was a small price to pay to stay in the heritage listed Albaycin area of the city with its atmospheric streets. The apartments are within walking distance of many cafes and amenities and the Alhambra can be reached by walking or nearby bus. The staff were friendly and helpful but the office is only staffed from 10-1.30 so you need to make prior arrangements for arrival and departure time. HOwever, the staff provided helpful information on how to reach the apartments and helped us to estimate the time. I would be happy to stay again.”

  • “We particularly liked the location, which is so close to the Alhambra and the Albacin. For this the apartment could not be beaten. The kitchen was also well kitted out, so perfect for eating in. The staff were friendly and helpful & breakfast items for first day were much appreciated.
Rooms were OK. Did not think it should have been called ‘boutique’ apartment which implies attention to detail/décoration etc. It was a bit ordinary.
There are wonderful tapas bars and restuarants very close by and they also provide a list of places to try. Granada is stunning and we would recommend that people leave enough time to explore the area around the old town as it is so pretty with several lovely squares to eat out.”

  • “Liked:Fantastic view and terrace, well furnished, helpful reception, location. Disliked: access for car difficult; would advise future visitors to park in car park and come on by taxi. Double bed too small for two.
Pre book al-hambra well in advance; enjoyed San Nicolas restaurant by the mirador st Nicola; great tapas in alley off playa Carmen and up to end of April 45 mini bus ride to the ski slopes with excellent facilities.”

  • “We were not offered the free room upgrade. We were offered an upgrade at a cost when we arrived - so clearly there was availability. We did receive the cava, which was very enjoyable.
The owner is hugely well organised, and likes to address every possible detail.
Their driving instructions are excellent - except for "leave the tunnel on the left hand side" which meant nothing to us ... something like "do not enter the tunnel, instead take the slip road alongside it on the right" would have worked better for us. It's a challenging drive, particularly in the old town. The parking they organised for us was a real boon.
The room was clean, pleasant and airy. Kitchen equipped with quality crockery and glasses - appliances worked well, and the furniture comfortable. The bed is very firm in a typical Spanish style. The breakfast pack was good.
We found the place charming, romantic and particularly conveniently located - I'd happily go there again.”

Save to favouritesPrintMailMuralla Ziri Boutique ApartmentsThe high hill of the Albaicin was amongst the first areas of Granada to be populated: the Berber clan of the Ziris founded the independent Kingdom of Taifa in the 11th-century. The city quickly spread across the Darro river to reach the what is now the Alhambra. Vestiges of the fortified citadel still remain, like the defensive wall preserved within both of the two two-storey houses that make up Muralla Zirí, and give onto a narrow street that cuts through the heart of the Albaicín. The decoration of these perfectly equipped self-catering [r:SP034:apartments] reflects the area's past, making extensive use of intricately carved plaster friezes and geometric woodwork: along with these flamboyant flourishes you'll find all that you need to self-cater in style. And after a day of sightseeing you can return to a Turkish bath and massage completing that vision of One Thousand and One Nights. Muralla Ziri is ideally placed for lively bars and restaurants. The friendly Mates family are experts on the local tapas scene, you could do no better than heed their recommendations for eating out.
