When to go?
Spring, early summer and early autumn are ideal - at these times the climate is gorgeous, but the sun is yet to reach its high season potential, so it's great for strolling round the ancient sites or cycling. However, if you simply want to laze by the pool all day and soak up the sun, book your holiday between June and August, but do bear in mind that the island gets pretty crowded in August
