Soncna Hisa

Press Reviews
New York Times Magazine, Spring 2009
"The Slovenian countryside - dotted with baroque churches and
untouched Alpine lakes - may seem an unlikely place to find
modernist boutique hotels. But in a bid to attract urban weekenders
from across Europe, ambitious hoteliers have opened stylish little
getaways in the rural reaches of this former Yugoslav republic.
Soncna Hisa, in the agricultural Prlekija region, is the work of
Natasa Kegelj Kovacic and Ales Kegelj. The couple built the
five-suite lodge with oiled walnut floors and mosaic-tile bathrooms
and filled it with Eames chairs and Italian light fixtures."
