The Amber
New Delhi, India
Relax amidst modern, boutique luxury at an affordable price in a tranquil, leafy corner of southern Delhi
This sleek, immaculate 20-room hotel is located in a quietly
upmarket neighbourhood of South Delhi, near the New Friends Colony.
Its swish, comfortable rooms are the perfect retreat for
travellers seeking luxurious calm amidst this high-speed Indian
metropolis.
The Amber’s gleaming white exterior and light, airy public
spaces instantly soothe, while the contemporary detail has been
carefully conceived to create a restful atmosphere. Mirrored
mosaics glitter in the sun-filled atrium, the staff happily assist
with transport arrangements and dish out local advice, and the
bedrooms have dark-wood floors, muted tones and geometric fabrics.
The peaceful location guarantees a good night’s sleep, as do
the spacious and firm beds, fitted with crisp white sheets and soft
throws. Murals and paintings by Indian artists hang throughout the
hotel, giving context to the designer overtones. With stylish
marble bathrooms, flatscreen TVs, free WiFi and 24-hour room
service, The Amber offers touches of luxury usually only found in
large Delhi hotels.

Highs
- It's very good value for money
- The spacious rooms have large beds and seating areas
- It's close to Nizamuddin train station
- The serene, suburban location means this is a great place to stay if you require a good night’s rest in contemporary luxury
- The friendly, professional staff will advise on where to eat, and book taxis for you
Lows
- It's away from the action and bustle of Delhi - you’re 30 minutes from the city centre and reliant on taxis and rickshaws
- There's no restaurant or bar, so you'll have to go out to eat and drink
- There's limited outdoor space - the small rooftop area is the only spot for sunseekers and its views aren't inspiring
