The Byron at Byron
Near Byron Bay, Australia
An immaculate resort and spa set in 45 acres of reclaimed rainforest, this is holiday heaven for couples seeking R'n'R
This resort's secluded setting makes it different from most of the
places to stay in carefree Byron Bay, yet it’s only a short
drive to the town centre. It's also just a 10-minute walk from
Tallow Beach, one of the more dramatic surf beaches, which has
fabulous sunrises and sunsets.
Hidden off the beaten track amongst 45 acres of glorious
rainforest, The Byron at Byron has a wonderfully laid-back
atmosphere that's married with stylish design and excellent staff.
Its 92 one-bedroom suites have been cleverly designed to
maximise your view of the lush foliage and provide privacy. Wooden
walkways make for easy morning strolls, bikes are available for
hire and there’s a tennis court, a huge infinity swimming
pool and a separate spa and wellness centre with a long list of
treatments. The hotel attracts couples and young families looking
for downtime - we felt incredibly relaxed here and were most
impressed with the friendly and professional staff, for whom
nothing was too much trouble.

Highs
- There's a large infinity pool, a sauna and a great poolside menu
- The stunning location is deep in the rainforest
- The modern Australian food is delicious
- The well-equipped and spacious suites have a living-dining area, a kitchen and lots of natural light
Lows
- Conferences run here, so ensure you’re not going to be visiting when there’s one on
- Its large size, identikit layout and unattractive signage make it feel more resort-y than other i-escape properties
- The wooden walkways and golf buggies are convenient, but they take the wildness away from the jungle
