“We had a perfect stay, everything was excellent. The new stone cottage No 18 was first class. Location great, food very good.... very friendly people and the owner could not have been more helpful or charming.”

The welcome "pack" was very generous and some of the things they provided for us lasted all week. (The washing machine was problematic but the owner just gave me a key to the empty house next door and that was fine.) We enjoyed the quiet luxury of being just out of season, it suited us very well. The tavernas are getting ready for the season to begin, everyone seems to be carrying a paintbrush, the limitations are that not everywhere is open, up and running. Our group consisted of 3 couples and a baby/toddler and the layout of The White House was perfectly flexible. (The Double House next door as the owner advised is definitely not suitable for young children.) The owner has an office right next door and is on hand if there is anything you need to arrange or need to know. Initially, I thought the price for this property even out of high season seemed high but after spending a month in Greece staying around in a great variety of places it seems entirely appropriate for the quality of the accommodation and space. Crete is a fabulously hospitable island, especially in the quieter areas, the Cretan people are warm and unspoilt.”

Perfect for those who are seeking something a little different. Overall atmosphere is very calm and tranquil and the villa is very comfortable and well maintained (with maid service every two days). Nikos the manager is on hand for all your needs. We would highly recommend this villa to families with small children as the beach opposite has white sands and sloping water bed – so very shallow and relaxed. The only negative to this villa is the fact that it is situated on a harbour that has been developed for tourists(there are two large hotels further along the bay) – so several bars and restaurants – although we went in August and it was never that busy or imposing. The beach itself is used a lot by Greek families – so has a very family feeling and is genuine.
About one hour drive through the mountains you will find remote beaches with white sands and turquoise sea in and around Xerokampos. The drive is not for the faint hearted but the scenery is beautiful. Go to Koutsouras and the local taverna on the beach – incredible food and the perfect setting to watch sunset.”

It was great to arrive to fruit, bread, cheese, coffee and wine etc- Nikos was super friendly. Great location - time spent sitting outside the apartment was really nice.”
