HIGHS
- Everything you could possibly want to eat and drink, and more: Finnish vodka martinis at the Mink, steamed hapuka and clams or rose geranium ice cream at Circa, lazy poached-egg-and-salmon brunches at Il Fornaio
- Being wrapped in a cocoon of jellybush honey before being cooled by river-stones and a scalp massage is enough to cure any sleep debt
- By the beach, yet easy to get into the city by tram or taxi... but with so much going on, you may never want to leave the hotel
- For anyone who appreciates designer furnishings, slick service and a happening vibe, it's spot on

LOWS
- It can be noisy at night, especially in the rooms near the pub and bandroom
- You need to book in advance for a table at Circa, whose Asian-inspired Australian cuisine and spectacular wine list are now famous
- If you splash out, the extras - fine wines at Circa, beauty treatments at Aurora - can double your bill
- The pool area is not very private and is not available if the area is booked for a private function
- Some people may find The Prince just too cool for school
