“Bijou studio villa with pool in the countryside near Palma (sleeps 2)”
Outside, yellow walls and painted shutters lend a Mexican feel. Inside, the style is typically Mallorquin - high wooden-beamed ceilings, terracotta-tiled floors and whitewashed walls - combined with some nice artistic touches: a carved headboard, contemporary paintings, kilims and an old writing desk. Crisp white bedlinen, a snug duvet and comfy sofa will make you want to curl up, while large French doors leading out to a sunny private terrace invite you to laze on the loungers and enjoy the views.
The small kitchenette has a 2-ring hob, sink, fridge, crockery and table for 2. There's no oven and cooking equipment is limited, so it's more suited to making snacks than gourmet dinners. But there is an outdoor barbeque to grill up more substantial meals. Basic provisions are provided on arrival: tea, coffee, sugar, milk, fruit, beer and mineral water. The nearest supermarket is 3km away and Palma has some excellent food markets. Palma's fine restaurants, tapas bars and cafes are just a short drive away, or there's a couple of eateries about 1km away, which you could walk to at a push. For typical Mallorquin cooking and a lively atmosphere we recommend Can Pedro's in the village of Genova, just west of Palma.
