Simple, stylish, short-let apartments in one of Barcelona's hippest neighbourhoods

BARCELONA LIVING - AT A GLANCE

Barcelona is one of those cities that every time you visit, you invariably think, ‘Hey, I could really live here...’ (at least I do). That’s why the name ‘Barcelona Living’ so suits the smart apartments we’ve found in the newly-trendy Born neighbourhood ... there’s nothing like having keys to a flat in the centre of town to stop you from feeling like a tourist.

The one-bedroom apartments are clean, bright and young – not unlike the clientele, many of them employees of film & production companies who use the flats as base camp for week-long shoots. Each of the four flats has its own floor and the self-controlled lift opens directly into the living space. The proximity to markets and the sizeable kitchenette means eating schedules are entirely up to you - and besides, being just off the Passeig del Born means you’re never far from a bar and a late night botifarra (sausage snack). Stay here and you'll get a taste of being a real resident of Barcelona.

HIGHS

  • Come and go as you please – no hassle with hotel check-in times and breakfast serving hours.
  • Home away from home – there’s flats in London that aren’t half this nice or this size!
  • Ideally located in the heart of El Born, where there’s no shortage of boutiques, restaurants and hidden watering holes for night owls
  • And for culture vultures, the Picasso Museum is just a stroll away.
  LOWS

  • No swimming pool, spa or any of the luxury side-benefits of hotel life.
  • No dishwasher so cleaning up after meals might destroy that holiday mood – the daily maid won’t wash up, I’m afraid.
  • Early-morning rubbish runs and revellers echoing through the narrow streets means peace and quiet shouldn’t be a priority.
