1. Digital Marketing Executive
i-escape is an
award-winning hotel website and booking service, specialising in finding the world's most inspiring boutique hotels and stylish hideaways. We are looking for a friendly, approachable and enthusiastic digital marketeer with a blend of creative, technical and communication skills - and a passion for travel - who can hit the ground running.
This position is based in our
Bristol office, with the opportunity to work from home on Fridays.
You will be working in a
team of 4-5 in a busy marketing & content department.
Key Activities:
Handle our social media accounts (currently Instagram and Facebook), including photo selection & editing, reels & stories, boosted posts and comments
Build weekly newsletters (using Active Campaign), including photo selection, optimising content, and creating new templates
Organise occasional press or influencer trips; supply photos and info to PR requests
Write & edit occasional blog posts and hotel reviews
Help with on-site messaging, including marketing pop-ups and newsletter sign-ups
Work with the marketing and editorial team to enhance life-cycle emails
Assist the team with other promotional activities, including giveaway stays, annual awards & gift vouchers
Assist the team on developing SEO/SEM, marketing database, and display advertising campaigns
Use Google Analytics and SEMRush to analyse and optimise your own marketing activities
Key Requirements:
At least two years of digital marketing experience, including social media and email campaigns
Excellent visual skills, including photo selection and editing
Excellent communication skills, both written and face-to-face
Ability to work on your own, and to see initiatives through from development to implementation
Hands on experience in using social media as a channel for growth
A creative streak to generate original and infectious marketing ideas
Knowledge of identifying trending content e.g. using Buzzsumo, Content Studio, Google Trends
Experience of GA, PPC & SEO sectors would be a bonus
A friendly, easy-going manner to fit in with our small Bristol-based team

2. Full Stack LAMP Developer
i-escape is an award-winning, independent, Bristol-based business specialised in hotel marketing and reservations. This is an exciting opportunity for a bright and ambitious full stack developer, preferably with some' LAMP experience, to join a friendly team of dynamic, like-minded professionals. There will be scope to work on new APIs and 3rd party integrations, the implementation of latest payment systems, ongoing UX improvements, and to make major contributions to the phased rebuild of our proprietary hotel reservation system.
You will have the following skills and experience:
Essential:
- Good knowledge of Laravel and Object Oriented PHP
- Experience of AngularJS or VueJs
- Strong HTML5 and SQL skills
- A rigorous analytical approach to problems
- A bright and enquiring mind
Preferable:
- 1+ year's experience in LAMP stack development
- Experience in refactoring legacy systems
- Familiarity with SASS
- Experience of managing websites in a Linux hosted environment
- Knowledge of unit testing
Other technologies that we use: Webpack, Gulp, Node & NPM, MariaDB, MySQL, PHPunit
You will report to the Technical Lead. From time to time, you will also be involved in steering groups alongside the company directors to assess the viability of new tech projects, and the best approaches to implementation, as well as the introduction of new technologies.
