On a private grassy hillside overlooking the windswept beaches of the Atlantic lies this secluded eco-house. It's just three kilometres from the cool kitesurfing town of Tarifa, but it feels completely cut off from civilisation. Hidden among rocky outcrops and pine forest, the house was rebuilt from an old shepherd's hut, with exposed stone and glass walls giving it a rustic, back-to-nature vibe. Solar panels provide electricity, whilst gas heats water directly from the mountain spring. The local farmer still herds his goats around the hillside, so you may even have the enchanting soundtrack of jingling goat bells while you take a siesta.
Inside, the house is cute and cosy, complete with an open-plan living area, kitchen, double bed and a cool kids’ bunk room. Outside is a private plunge pool and incredible 360-degree views across beaches and grassy hills. It's a perfect hideaway for couples or small families that don't require creature comforts. If you're into windsports, even better! And from this secluded spot on an undeveloped stretch of coastline, the starry skies are magical.
