Hotel Omm

Eixample, Barcelona, Spain

Super-cool interiors and ambrosial food make Barcelona’s classiest design hotel a real treat for the senses

The fundamentals here are ‘grand hotel’ – cavernous rooms, battalions of staff, the very best food – but the interiors are sublimely contemporary, giving you the best of both worlds. The rooms are full of understated grooviness, and come with all the cool design essentials you'd expect: low-slung beds, floor-to-ceiling walls of glass and American oak floors.

In the lobby, high ceilings and comfy sofas at the front give way to low ceilings and leather stools at the bar; locals congregate each evening, giving the place a real buzz. In between you’ll find an open fire, wonderfully comfortable swivel chairs and light boxes. Beyond, 'Moo', the hotel's restaurant, backs up against an indoor courtyard, where dangling mirrors sparkle among giant bamboo. Cleverly, this is all one room, with different spaces defined by the height of ceilings rather than walls. As for the food... well, it's heavenly - some of the best in Barcelona - a taste sensation that’s out of this world.

Highs

  • Funky spacious bedrooms with all the usual hi-tech gadgetry.
  • Truly scrumptious food from the Roca brothers.
  • Rooftop pool and decked terrace with views of Gaudi's La Pedrera and Sagrada Familia
  • Passeig de Grácia – Barcelona’s glitziest shopping street – is on your doorstep.

Lows

  • Bedrooms at the back look onto a slightly lifeless courtyard but are quieter than the front rooms.
  • A serious design hotel with an expensive price tag.
  • With 59 rooms and 20 more planned, it's less intimate and personal than our usual i-escape hotels.

Minimalism at its most stylish, an ultra-modern fantasy of designer luxury...
