back to top3 weeks - Mexico City, Oaxaca and the Yucatán

A broad and leisurely open-jaw tour allowing enough time to take in the main archaeological sites in Mexico City, Oaxaca and the Yucatán.

Day 1-3: Fly to Mexico City and spend 2 nights at one of our many accommodation options. Visit the anthropological museum and the ancient site of Teotihuacan, before taking the overnight bus to Oaxaca.

Day 4-9: Explore the villages around Oaxaca, the ruins at Monte Albán and the frozen waterfall at Hierve el Agua, and shop at the town’s markets. Stay at one of our featured hotels in Oaxaca: Casa de los Milagros, Las Bugambilias, Casa Oaxaca or Hacienda Los Laureles. On day 9 take an overnight bus to Palenque.

Day 10-13: Wander through the magical Palenque ruins, take a horse-riding tour into the jungle, and swim in the waterfalls at Agua Azul.

Day 14-19: Base yourself near Tulum at the lakeside Rancho Encantado, hire a car and visit the Sian Ka'an Biosphere, the ruins around Chetumal and Tulum, and the coral reef at Xcalak.

Day 20-21: Treat yourself to a night at the world-class Maroma Resort and Spa, before flying home from nearby Cancún.

back to top2 weeks - Oaxaca and the Pacific Coast

An all-encompassing tour driving across high mountains and deep valleys down to the beautiful beaches of the Pacific coast.

Day 1-2: Fly to Mexico City and spend a night at one of our featured hotels. Visit the anthropological museum and the ancient site of Teotihuacan before taking the overnight bus to Oaxaca.

Day 3-7: Explore the villages around Oaxaca, the ruins at Monte Albán and the frozen waterfall at Hierve el Agua, and shop at the town’s markets. Stay at one of our featured hotels in Oaxaca: Casa de los Milagros, Las Bugambilias, Casa Oaxaca or Hacienda Los Laureles.

Day 7-13: Hire a car and drive down to the Pacific coast, where you can drive between the various villages sunbathing and absorbing the local culture. Stay at Flor de Maria in Puerto Escondido - a surfer's paradise with turtle-watching possible nearby.

Day 14: Fly home from Puerto Escondido.

back to top2 weeks - the Yucatán and Mérida

A leisurely tour taking in some of the region’s famous haciendas and the well-known site of Chichen Itza, and allowing sunbathing time on the Caribbean beaches.

Day 1-4: Fly to Mérida and stay at Hacienda Santa Rosa, from where you can explore the Uxmal ruins.

Day 5-6: Drive to the famous Mayan site at Chichen Itza, staying at Hacienda Chichen for one night and swimming in the nearby cenotes.

Day 7-12: Base yourself near Tulum at a beautiful beach house or a secluded beachside hotel. Hire a car and visit the Sian Ka'an Biosphere, the ruins around Chetumal and Tulum, and the coral reef at Xcalak.

Day 13-14: Treat yourself to a night at luxurious Hotel Esencia before flying home from nearby Cancún.

2 weeks - the Yucatán

A driving tour along the Caribbean coast, visiting the famous sites at Tulum and Chichen Itza, and diving over world-class coral reef at Xcalak.

Day 1-6: Fly to Cancún, hire a car and drive down the coast to Tulum. Stay in a beachside cabana at Zamas or at the Thai-style Shambala Petit Hotel, visit the ruins at Tulum and Chichen Itza, explore the Sian Ka'an Biosphere and work on your suntan.

Day 7-13: Drive to Bacalar and stay at the lakeside Rancho Encantado for a couple of nights, before heading on to Xcalak, where you can dive over world-class coral reefs at Costa de Cocos Dive Resort.

Day 14: Relax for a night at romantic Tides Riviera Maya before flying home from nearby Cancún.

back to top2 weeks - Oaxaca, San Cristóbal and Palenque

A trip taking in Oaxaca and San Cristóbal de las Casas, allowing time to go into the jungle to visit the Lacandon people and take a day trip to Palenque.

Day 1-3: Fly to Oaxaca and visit the ruins at Monte Albán. Stay at Casa de los Milagros, Las Bugambilias, Casa Oaxaca or Hacienda Los Laureles for 2 nights, before taking an overnight bus to San Cristóbal.

Day 4-6: Explore the markets and churches at San Cristóbal. Stay at museum-cum-hotel Casa Na Bolom, where you can gain an insight into the local Lacandon culture. Enjoy an educational walking tour of the town, and take a day trip to Palenque.

Day 7-12: Drive to the multicoloured lakes of Montebello and stay at Hacienda Santa Maria, from where you can join a short tour into the Lacandon villages in the jungle.

Day 13-14: Return to Oaxaca and fly home.

back to top10 days - Baja California

A relaxing tour encompassing colonial towns and a secluded island, with plenty of opportunities for watersports and wildlife-spotting.

Day 1-2: Fly to Los Cabos and spend a night at hotel and gourmet restaurant Casa Natalia, in the colonial town of San José del Cabo.

Day 3-5: Hire a car and drive to arty Todos Santos. Stay at secluded lagoon-side Alegria Villas or colourful B&B The Hotelito, spend time exploring the town’s shops, galleries and cobbled streets, and spot whales out to sea.

Day 5-9: Drive north to La Paz, leave your car behind and take a motorboat to tented Baja Camp on remote Isla Espíritu Santo for a 4-night stay. Swim in crystal-clear waters, dive among manta rays, and take a boat trip to a local sea lion colony.

Day 9: Head back to La Paz and spend a night at serene B&B El Angel Azul. Wander past the town’s colonial buildings and take in its easy-going vibe.

Day 10: Fly home from La Paz.
