PAPILLOTE WILDERNESS RETREAT - REVIEW
Papillote is a unique haven located high up in Dominica's pristine rainforest, amid nature trails, freshwater streams, hot mineral pools and a myriad of exotic foliage and wildlife. Owned by marine scientist, Anne Grey Baptiste, and her husband Cuthbert, this Eden-like paradise was totally rebuilt 20 years ago after Hurricane David devastated the area. It's hard to believe as the gardens now resemble a rich wilderness complete with a canopy of lush vegetation.
Watch rainbows arc over verdant mountains and butterflies and hummingbirds flash by orchids, heliconia, giant ferns and ginger blossoms. Add to this, log cabin style rooms, a selection of tasty Creole dishes and stimulating fellow guests, and you'll see why the Papillote experience is something people return to again and again. A must for hikers, gardeners, botanists, photographers, artists, romantics and families wanting to get a away from it all. |
