Amoret Apartments
Dubrovnik, Croatia
Ten charming apartments (sleeping 2-3) in three former palaces furnished with antiques, lying within Dubrovnik’s splendid UNESCO-listed medieval town
Dubrovnik has to be one of the world’s most magnificent
fortified cities. Sitting snugly within 2km of medieval walls, the
old town presides over the deep blue waters of the Adriatic Sea.
Once the capital of the wealthy Republic of Ragusa (1358-1808),
during its 16th-century heyday it had one of the largest merchant
naval fleets in the world. Today it’s a UNESCO world-heritage
site and Croatia’s most expensive destination.
Within the city walls, you’ll find the Amoret Apartments
occupying elegant 16th-century stone buildings at three separate
locations: Amoret 2 is near the Jesuit monastery, Amorets 1 and 3
are close to the Cathedral. Each apartment consists of a
bedroom, kitchenette and bathroom, and is furnished with antiques
and decorated with modern paintings inspired by the city. Owner
Branka Dabroviæ and her husband Ivica (ex national water-polo
player) are remarkably kind and helpful. They meet guests on
arrival and help them to their lodgings, and give local advice
regarding sightseeing, restaurants and excursions.
