Oft over-looked in comparison to the other bigger, busier and brasher states, South Australia has beauty and backcountry to satisfy even the most jaded palate. It has it all: a magnificent coastline with immense sandy beaches (many deserted); lush rolling hills and rich agricultural land; a friendly and cultural capital city; world famous wineries; the entrancing and ancient Flinders Ranges; and the extraordinary wild landscape of the outback found in rugged opal fields and vast salt lakes, which are dry most of the year.
