Meet the judges: Courtney Adamo of Somewhere Slower

This month we’re celebrating the hotels that make us smile with our Feel-Good Hotel Awards. You’ve been voting for your favourites and we’ve also enlisted the help of some of our expert blogger friends to help decide the winners in the categories closest to their hearts.

So here we have it, travel tips and happy holiday memories from Courtney Adamo, the judge of our Childhood Unplugged category.

Courtney knows a thing or two about free-range living and travelling with kids. Last year, she went on a year-long globe-trotting adventure with her husband and their 4 children, sharing her experiences at Somewhere Slower. The family now live in Byron Bay, Australia, where they have welcomed the newest Adamo member, baby Wilkie.

So, Courtney, tell us – which destinations are on your travel hit list for 2018?

We are hoping to make it back to Arugam Bay, in Sri Lanka, for a little surf trip. We also have plans to return to Positano, Italy – one of our favourite places on this planet.

What’s your happiest holiday memory?

During our round-the-world trip last year, we spent three beautiful weeks in Trancoso, Brazil. It is such a special little village, and we have so many wonderful memories from our time there.

What’s your bucket list destination?

Someday, when all my kids are grown up, I would love to do an African safari trip with them all. But I’m not in any rush for the kids to grow up, so…!
