Getting Around

By Car:
You will most likely need to hire a car while staying in Marin to make the most of this lovely county. See our car rental recommendations. Be careful when driving along Route One (between Muir Beach and Stinson) as the view is very distracting and your passengers may be feeling distinctly queasy.

By Ferry:
There are ferry services to San Francisco from Sausalito and Larkspur. Ferries also connect Tiburon and Angel Island.

By Bus:
The Marin Airporter offers scheduled bus service to and from Marin County and the San Francisco Airport, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Local bus routes are provided by Golden Gate Transit to San Rafael (county town), San Anselmo, Sausalito, Tiburon, Tamalpais Valley and Ross. Greyhound Buses go to San Rafael.

By Taxi:
There are taxis in Sausalito which will take you over the Bridge into San Francisco and locally. There are also taxis in Point Reyes Station, best to book in advance.
