Getting There

Fly into Bilbao, Biarritz (in France), Santander or Asturias, all international airports, or Vitoria, Logroño or Pamplona (domestic flights only).

From the UK:
EasyJet flies to Bilbao from London Stansted and Manchester, to Santander and Asturias from London Stansted, and to Biarritz from London Gatwick.
Vueling flies to Bilbao from London Heathrow.
Ryanair flies to Biarritz from Manchester and London Stansted, and to Santander and Asturias from London Stansted.

From Europe:
Lufthansa flies to Bilbao from various German airports, and Iberia flies from various Spanish airports. There are also Air France services to Bilbao from Paris, and Vueling flights from Amsterdam and various Spanish airports.

Services to Biarritz include EasyJet from Paris and Lyon,
KLM and Air France from various French airports, and Transavia from Rotterdam.

From North America, Australia and New Zealand:
There are no direct flights, but there are reasonable connections via London and other European cities.


Brittany Ferries sails from Portsmouth to Bilbao. The journey takes 24 hours. Early booking is recommended. They also sail to Santander from Bilbao from Plymouth and Portsmouth.
