Gandys was founded by brothers Rob and Paul, who lost their parents in Sri Lanka during the 2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami. Following the devastation, they wanted to give something back, so they created the Gandys brand to fund education projects around the world. Every time you buy, you’re making a valuable contribution, and helping them in their mission to educate 1 million underprivileged children.

Gandys collaboration with Freedom for Children Sri Lanka began in 2014, when they built a school which provides high-quality welfare and education to the local community. The lucky competition winner has the opportunity to visit the Gandys School at Freedom for Children as part of their trip, for a tour and introduction.

Why House

Near Galle, Sri Lanka

As either the first or second half of the trip, enjoy a 4-night stay at Why House, a bijou hideaway in a laid-back village near Galle. It’s an oasis of calm with tropical gardens, a lovely pool, and warm and friendly service. The look is simple, traditional Sri Lankan luxury – think polished dark furniture, light airy rooms, glass-roofed bathrooms and private terraces. Turtles have been sighted on the local beach, which is a 15-minute walk or a complimentary tuk-tuk ride away. Or you can head into Galle to see its famous Fort – early morning is the best time to go, before the crowds arrive.

Sri Villas

Near Bentota, Sri Lanka

The other half of the trip comprises a 4-night stay at one of the Sri Villas, set on a quiet and beautiful beach near Bentota on Sri Lanka’s south coast. The three villas have lush gardens, a shared pool, and unrivalled views of the Indian Ocean. Friendly staff can arrange activities, and the French-trained cook can cater all your meals. Kick off your shoes, drink in the tropical vista, dip your toes in the sea, and dine alfresco on sumptuous seafood.

Terms & conditions

• This promotion runs from 8 – 31 January 2024.
• The prize includes:
  • A 4-night hotel stay for up to 2 people on a bed & breakfast rate at Why House, near Galle, Sri Lanka.
  • A 4-night stay for up to 2 people on a bed & breakfast rate at Sri Villas, near Bentota, Sri Lanka.
    • The stays can be between 4 March 2024 – 31 August 2025, excluding May – June 2024, 20 December 2024 – 10 January 2025, subject to availability.
    • The accommodation is a double or twin room, allocated at the time of booking.
    • Additional nights may be added by arrangement at the cost of the prize winner.
    • A stay during the excluded dates may be possible by arrangement at a supplementary cost to the prize winner.
    • The booking must be made within 6 months of being notified of winning. Dates cannot be changed after this time.
  • A guided tour of The Gandys Kids Campus: Freedom for Children Sri Lanka, near Gonapola.
  • Up to £1,500 towards travel costs for the trip, which will be made as a direct payment to the winner from i-escape. Travel receipts will be required to make payment.
  • Two Gandys Sri Lanka Waxed Cotton Backpacks.
• The winner will be selected at random and contacted shortly after 1 February 2024. We will contact the winner from either an @i-escape.com email address or the accounts @iescapehotels on Instagram or @iescape.com on Facebook. If the winner does not acknowledge receipt within 2 weeks, the prize will be offered to another winner. i-escape will not be held responsible for non-delivery of emails or messages on social media.
