What with the miserable weather – and the truly depressing Brexit result – we’re all feeling rather low-spirited right now, but let’s try to cheer our minds with sunny climates and exotic adventures.

Croatia and Costa Rica. Our destination focuses for July – and 2 countries I’m mad keen to visit. With turquoise seas, buzzy waterfront towns, sleepy fishing villages, golden beaches backed by cool pine forests, and the magnificent medieval walled city of Dubrovnik, Croatia’s a dream of an island-hopping holiday (there are 1,200 to explore). Our intern this month, Lily, has recently done just that – keep an eye out for her brilliant blog, later this month.

Costa Rica has live volcanoes; you can sit and watch them erupt as you have breakfast. It has cloud forests you can zipline through, incredible wildlife and great surf beaches. Plus treehouse lodges and a hotel you need to raft into.

It sounds amazing! Once, it was a hassle to get to. But BA now fly direct from London to San Jose, and we’ve got a Tailormade Tour operator who can sort your entire trip for you, if you’d prefer a bit of guidance.

Discover more about both destinations on our Instagram, Facebook and Twitter feeds this month.

(And let’s all start on the ’99s this weekend).
