1  Moroccan mountain escape

“I’d lose myself in Atlas Mountain views – this colourful guesthouse is in one of the highest villages of the mighty Toubkal Massif, and feels a world away from the hustle and bustle of modern life. Fly to Marrakech and drive (or take a transfer) up to Imlil. The last stretch is best taken by donkey, which is all part of the adventure. A £250 gift card would go a long way here; rooms start at £63 a night including dinner.”

2  Gastropub weekend break from Bristol

I’ve visited this stylishly refurbished Somerset gastropub-with-rooms once before, and would jump at the chance to stay again. It’s the sister property of i-escape favourites The Beckford Arms and The Talbot, and only an hour away from our HQ. It’s great value; a £250 gift card would all but cover 2 nights – including dinner for two on both evenings! But the next weekend with space is over a month away, so it might be something to look forward to in the autumn…

3  Arty and affordable city break to Berlin

There’s no shortage of cheap flights from the UK to Berlin – I’d hop on an Easyjet flight from i-escape’s hometown of Bristol. As well as being one of the best connected cities in Europe, it’s also one of the most buzzy and arty. And speaking of art, I’d love to stay at the amazing Art Hotel Luise. It’s right in the centre of the action: 5 minutes from the Reichstag, 10 from the Brandenburg Gate and 15 from Museum Island. Rooms start from just £52, but I’d be tempted to go for the ensuite shower doubles at £97 a night (I especially like the look of the ‘Safari’ room). With the £250 gift card, a 3-night stay would set me back just £38.

4  Croatian island hideaway

I love the look of this boho-chic B&B on Hvar’s peaceful north shore. It’s tranquil and unspoilt, yet only 20 minutes from Hvar Town. I’d hop on a flight to Split, and catch the ferry over to Stari Grad to meet owners Chris and Amanda at the port. Since everything is within walking distance in Stari Grad, there’s no need for me to hire a car, and at £100 per night I could enjoy 3 nights away for just £50 if I were to win the gift card!

5  A weekend in a buzzing Cornish town

The Star & Garter in Falmouth has been on my must-visit list ever since I heard about their legendary roast dinners and cocktails. And the stunning apartments above look like the perfect place to retire to after a day exploring Falmouth’s beaches, galleries and boutiques. A £250 gift card would get me well on the way to a 2-night stay!
